6c259af759 fix(agents): strip stale compaction thinking signatures before Anthropic replay (#90163) 
Pre-compaction assistant messages carry thinkingSignature values bound to the
original conversation prefix. After compaction the prefix changes (summarized
content is replaced by the compaction summary), so Anthropic rejects those
signatures with "Invalid signature in thinking block", permanently stalling the
session through gateway restarts.

stripInvalidThinkingSignatures only catches absent/blank signatures; this adds
stripStaleThinkingSignaturesForCompactionReplay (thinking.ts) which identifies
pre-compaction assistant messages by timestamp comparison against the latest
compaction summary and strips their signature fields. Called in
sanitizeSessionHistory (replay-history.ts) before stripInvalidThinkingSignatures
for all signed-thinking providers (Anthropic, Bedrock, Vertex). Also fixes
buildSuccessorEntries (compaction-successor-transcript.ts) to strip only
pre-compaction kept entries when writing the rotation successor JSONL; uses
strict < timestamp boundary so same-instant post-compaction messages are not
affected.

Docs: update transcript-hygiene.md Anthropic and Bedrock sections.
Tests: 8 new cases for stripStaleThinkingSignaturesForCompactionReplay; 1 new
case for buildSuccessorEntries verifying pre/post-compaction signature boundary.

Fixes #90108

cf315ddef6 fix(agents): preserve reasoning replay from model metadata 
Preserve OpenAI-compatible replay reasoning when the selected custom or self-hosted model already has reasoning metadata enabled.

The transcript policy now treats existing model metadata as the replay contract instead of requiring a new provider config knob, and the OpenAI-compatible serializer preserves reasoning_content for those routes while keeping stock OpenAI, Gemma 4, and known non-replayable OpenRouter safeguards.

Fixes #88068.

ef77428c95 fix(openai): normalize responses replay tool ids 
Fixes #74665.

Normalize replayed OpenAI Responses tool call identifiers before same-model pi-ai replay sends them back to the provider. This keeps canonical `call_*|fc_*` pairs intact when valid, rewrites overlong or malformed `function_call.call_id`, `function_call.id`, and matching `function_call_output.call_id` values into OpenAI's accepted 64-character shape, and preserves the reasoning replay path.

Verification:
- Live OpenAI E2E with maintainer key: raw replay payload failed with HTTP 400 for overlong `input[1].id`; normalized replay succeeded with HTTP 200 and `LIVE_OK`.

e1d7ba5915 fix(agents): remove transient session-repair backups 
Adapts @tynamite's fix from the abandoned #77945 to current main (which
moved to replaceFileAtomic after that PR was opened), and adds the docs +
changelog updates clawsweeper flagged plus a regression test for the
field condition from #80960.

When repairSessionFileIfNeeded writes a cleaned transcript, the sibling
*.bak-<pid>-<ts> snapshot is deleted after the atomic replace succeeds.
It is only retained — and only then reported via backupPath — when the
cleanup itself fails. This prevents the unbounded accumulation observed
in #80960, where a stuck operations-agent session with a persistently
malformed JSONL line caused 2,180 ~1.8 MB backup files to pile up over
~25 hours inside two gateway processes (PIDs 1220 and 2640).

Test changes:
- Replace requireBackupPath helper with expectNoRetainedBackup that
  also asserts no .bak-* siblings remain on disk.
- Update the four call sites that used to read the retained backup.
- Add a regression test that drives repair five times against a file
  with a recurring malformed tail and asserts zero retained backups.

Docs:
- docs/reference/transcript-hygiene.md: describe backup as transient,
  retained only on cleanup failure.

Fixes #80960. Supersedes #77945. Co-authored by @tynamite — credit for
the original approach.

e8756d99ae Preserve delivered assistant replies in session repair (#76420) 
Summary:
- The PR removes session-file repair's trailing-assistant disk trim, updates regression coverage, clarifies transcript hygiene docs, and adds a changelog entry for the Telegram/WebChat history loss fix.
- Reproducibility: yes. Current main has a clear source path: a normal trailing assistant JSONL record is popped by `repairSessionFileIfNeeded`, and the main-branch test suite asserts that deletion.

Sweep recent (last ~5h) doc edits for two readability/uniformity issues:

- Replace 42 path-as-text links of the form '[/foo/bar](/foo/bar)' with
  descriptive labels derived from each target page's frontmatter title
  (e.g. '[Anthropic]', '[Token use and costs]', '[OpenAI-compatible
  endpoints]'). Affected files include gateway/troubleshooting,
  concepts/oauth, reference/session-management-compaction, and
  reference/transcript-hygiene.
- Sentence-case Title-Cased headings and link text in Related sections
  across codex-harness, model-providers, tools/plugin, sdk-runtime,
  sdk-setup, prompt-caching, ci, cli/config, google-meet, browser,
  rich-output-protocol, subagents, web/control-ui, while preserving
  brand and proper-noun capitalization (OpenAI, Codex, Chrome, Parallels,
  Z.AI, etc.).

6e985a421d fix(webchat): keep runtime context out of visible transcripts 
Keep WebChat runtime context available to the model while persisting only the transcript-facing user prompt across gateway, CLI, queued follow-up, and embedded Pi paths.

Adds regression coverage for history sanitization, CLI transcript persistence, media-only auto-reply prompts, and embedded Pi prompt rewrite against a real SessionManager file.
